Bluetooth low energy, as known as ble technology is having a lot of hype these days in retail mostly in last few years. Though many people are not aware of this newly revealing technology and might ask what ble technology is?
The answer is now a day ble gives a meaning to the environment where you are staying. Smartphone users are moving their mobile experience apart from their mobile phones through BLE interactive connections/ ble applications.
A ble beacon is a small appliance, which is powered by a small battery or Universal Serial Bus (USB). A smartphone picks up the low energy Bluetooth signal emitted by the ble beacon, and understands about its own presence through the beacon.
Though normal Bluetooth and BLE are two branches of same tree but it’s a totally different technology. “Classic” Bluetooth takes up more power than BLE and as well as transmits more data. “Classic” Bluetooth is suitable for media file streaming or calling via a Bluetooth headset. But BLE is aimed to transfer periodically a very small amount of data.
The most well known brands like AOPL and seeksoft are working vastly and successfully with their huge range of products and appealing solutions. A smartphone with an application installed it, which can pick up the signal can act as an assistant of the shopper.
Every beacon supplies three types of information, which required by the ibeacon hardware.
- A distinct ID for the organization/firm it belongs.
- A name to identify the location of the beacon.
- A specific name that can tell the store section precisely.
These are call UUID values, they are of two types, Major, and Minor.
These contexts can be of use to decide someone’s interest about a store. After knowing someone’s interest, a personalized experience can be given to the user.
